Computer fault task – Virus 1 

 

This virus was made under the supervision of the Gloucestershire College Computing Department lecturers. It will not be sent/used outside of Gloscol. This blog is for educational purposes only. 

 

Our virus starts off with a message box that says, “This computer is infected with a virus that will restart the machine in 1 minute. Remove the virus as fast as possible.” 

 

The first payload happens in 15 seconds. A picture of a distorted Keanu Reeves opens on the desktop. This is to distract the user from removing the virus. 

The second payload happens 15 seconds after the first. The magnifier app gets opened at 1600% to distract the user. 

Another payload happens 15 seconds after. A message box opens saying “having fun?”. This again is to distract the user. 

Finally, the last payload activates which restarts the computer. After it has rebooted, it will start the virus again.
